Why battery-powered RV AC is replacing generator AC
Traditional RV AC requires 30A 120V shore power or a 2–3 kW generator for operation — neither available at remote boondocking sites or quiet-camping campgrounds. Battery-powered 12V/24V parking AC runs silently from the RV house battery bank, opening boondocking and off-grid camping locations that 120V AC simply cannot reach. Modern LiFePO4 + rooftop solar makes overnight battery AC genuinely autonomous.Sizing by RV class
Class B / Sprinter conversion (5–7 m³ interior): ZH 1000 12V + 150Ah LiFePO4 + 200W solar. Class C motorhome (10–15 m³): VS02 PRO 24V + 200Ah LiFePO4 24V + 300W solar. Class A motorhome (18–25 m³): two ZH 1000 12V units OR one VC 1000 + 300Ah LiFePO4 + 400–600W solar. Fifth wheels and large travel trailers: similar sizing to Class C or A depending on volume. All VS02 PRO / ZH 1000 / VC 1000 / VC 2000 options available.Cutout compatibility with existing RV vents
360×360 mm rooftop cutout (14.2×14.2 inch) matches the 14×14 inch standard rooftop vent opening on most North American and European motorhomes — making retrofit straightforward without enlarging the roof opening. Installation typically 4–6 hours by an RV tech, including sealant work and interior trim. We supply install adapter plates for popular Class A platforms (Newmar, Tiffin, Winnebago, Thor) and European motorhomes (Bürstner, Hymer, Carthago, Adria).Lithium + solar for true off-grid camping
The boondocking-ready configuration is: rooftop solar 400–600W + LiFePO4 300Ah + DC-powered parking AC. This setup provides indefinite off-grid cab cooling at sunny latitudes (US Southwest, Mexico, Mediterranean, Australia). Recharge during drive days adds to solar harvest, providing buffer for cloudy stretches. Many full-time RV owners report no need for shore power hookups except in deep winter.Get an RV-specific quote

Will it fit on top of my existing Class A motorhome?
Yes if you have at least a 360×360 mm flat area on the roof. Most Class A coaches have multiple suitable locations. We supply install guides for popular Class A platforms.
How long can I cool overnight while boondocking?
Depends on battery and cooling load. Typical Class B with 150Ah LiFePO4: 6–8 hours continuous. Class C with 200Ah LiFePO4: 8–10 hours. Class A with 300Ah LiFePO4: 10–12 hours. Solar recharge during the day extends usable autonomy indefinitely in sunny conditions.
Is it quieter than a generator?
Dramatically. Operating noise 45–55 dB at 1 meter vs 65–75 dB for typical RV generator. Many boondock-friendly campgrounds prohibit generators but allow battery-powered AC.
Can I run it while driving down the road?
Yes. House battery + alternator easily supports continuous operation while driving — useful for cooling the rear coach in Class A travel.
